Upon arriving, she was attacked by a centipede monster, and was wounded, releasing the Shikon no Tama from her body. She's the reincarnation of Kikyou. The jewel was accidently shattered by Kagome when she was shooting an arrow. Her quest is to regain the shards with Inu Yasha. Back in the present, she struggles to keep up with her studies.
