When we first meet him, he is in the possession of three shikon shards. Inu Yasha tried to take them but failed. Kouga and Inu now fight everytime they meet up, for their tempers are too much alike. Whenever Kouga hurts himself, Kagome feels pity, Inu Yasha gets jealous, and Kouga swears more and more that Kagome's his "woman". Although the two dog youkai may fight from time to time, if they pair up, they do make a decent team, although they may deny it something fierce. Kouga looks very much like Ryouga from Ranma 1/2, a manga also done by Rumiko Takahashi.
